Beetroot Berry Beauty Smoothie

Bet you’ve never seen beetroot in a smoothie before? Or maybe you have. Either way, my Beetroot Berry Beauty Smoothie has become a delicious staple in my weekly menu (especially after this heat wave in Sydney!).

There’s no doubt in my mind to me that beauty starts from within, whether you are talking about physical beauty or any other kind of beauty. As a nutritionist, I always turn to food first, so when it comes to the health of our skin, hair, nails, eyes, teeth and everything in between, diet is naturally the first place I look to make changes.

And then there’s the fact that I have the world’s most basic beauty routine (in terms of products and topical skincare), and as with everything in my life, I allow my diet to provide a strong foundation for everything from my appearance to my mood to my productivity. In fact, I credit my diet to the fact that most of the time, I feel pretty fucking amazing!

In this smoothie, I’ve added beetroot and raspberry for their powerful anti-oxidants (which fight the physical signs of ageing), and wild caught marine collagen which is a recent daily addition to my diet. Keep in mind, we don’t absorb collagen in its whole form, and yes our bodies have the ability to make it on its own. The benefits of consuming collagen is that we provide our bodies with the amino acids it needs to be able to make our own collagen, which keeps our skin taught and vibrant.
