Chocolate Drizzle Pears

One food secret I keep up my sleeve is that almost everything can be improved by simply dunking it in melted chocolate. Seems obvious doesn’t it. This dessert really came about when I needed a last minute idea and had no time to prepare anything crazy or run to the markets. But it is truly always a crowd pleaser, it’s very easy and very wholesome. What could be better?

Chocolate Drizzle Pears

Cover anything in chocolate and you have a great dessert. Not only does everyone love chocolate, but if you choose a very dark chocolate it’s also very good for you too.

I do this all the time with both fresh and dried fruit and im always amazed how much people love it. So good as a little dessert or sweet treat to serve with tea and coffee. I use 85-90% dark chocolate as i prefer it very dark, especially when paired with a very sweet fruit #chocolatecoveredpears #easydessert #healthydessertidea #chocolaterecipe #twoingredientrecipe

Chocolate Drizzle Pears

A very easy, yet impressive and healthy 2-ingredient dessert.

INGREDIENTS
  • 10 dried pear slices
  • 100g dark chocolate (85-90%), broken into equal peices
METHOD
  1. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between each.
  2. Place the dried pears in a single layer on a large plate or tray lined with baking paper.
  3. Drizzle melted chocolate over them, using a fork or a spoon. Set in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Notes
  • I use at least 85% dark chocolate as this is very low in sugar, and with the sweetness of the pear, the bitterness of the chocolate is perfect.
  • You can do this with any dried fruit!
